Here's the Nakatomi Plaza building that was blown up in the first Die Hard film. It isn't called Nakatomi Plaza, and it wasn't really blown up, but a lot of Hollywood city sequences are filmed in Toronto since it is cheaper. It's a nice testament to Toronto that they have to strew the streets with fake litter to make it look like New York or LA.
The Omnimax theatre at the Ontario Science Centre. Omnimax is IMAX format film projected onto the inside ceiling of a massive dome. It is pretty amazing since the screen takes up more than your eyes' entire field of vision.
Paul got dragged along. Sorry Texas!
The Royal Ontario Museum (the "ROM" as the locals call it) is definitely worth a visit. The entrance hall has a very impressive vaulted mosaic ceiling.
The ceiling mosaic in a little more detail.
Graeme Boocock and friends from the Children's Hospital. I'm sorry, I'm absolutely terrible with names - someone let me know and I'll update this!!!
A short ferry ride across from the harbour are "The Islands". Here's a nice spot on Centre Island.
Canada Geese Branta canadensis.
Not a Canada Goose, Branta evil bastardii. This massive beast has been obviously well fed on the local pizza and hot chips fare, but not by quietly waiting around pulling cute, hopeful faces. This one is more "You've got ten seconds to hand it over. All your food. Now."
Andrew and Sarah on a cycle thing.
Rick, Shane, Jen on another cycle thing.
That would be us in a nice but badly lit spot, so the exposure is all wrong. Oh well.
